This is a monthly Saturday morning event for those with some experience of mindfulness or similar awareness practices, held in the Art Room at Exeter Community Centre, 17 St David’s Hill, Exeter EX4 3RG.
You can arrive from 9.00am to settle in for a 9.30 start. We’ll finish at 12.30. Anyone who’s attended a mindfulness course (MBSR, MBCT, Breathworks, etc) or similar (meditation, yoga, etc) will find the pace and practice familiar. The morning has a simple programme of sitting and walking meditation, body awareness (‘bodyscan’), mindful movement – and a tea break. The whole morning is held in silence – including the tea break – with spoken guidance – and discussion to close. There are chairs for sitting, but please bring a mat and/or blanket to lie on and a cushion for floorpractice. And feel free to bring cushions, etc, to sit on the floor for meditation if you prefer. We provide tea, biscuits, etc. If you’ve not been before and would like to know more, I’m always happy to chat about it on the phone.
Giving yourself the gift of these few hours can refresh your sense of what mindfulness means to you personally – even if your practice has faded since your course.
