Heard about Mindfulness but wondering what exactly it is and how you go about “doing” it? Contact us for the dates of introductory sessions: short simple mindfulness practices, some background information and an opportunity to ask questions.
These clips from the BBC’s ‘Breakfast’ programme show how learning mindfulness can help ease the suffering of pain and stress. The Mental Health Foundation’s mindfulness website includes this short introduction to what mindfulness is and how it works, and this personal account of attending a mindfulness course. And here’s a short guided meditation (three minutes) that you can try right now …
Our courses generally last eight weeks, sometimes with a ‘gap week’ or two, and include a weekend morning of practice, usually around the midpoint of the course. Over these weeks you’ll be encouraged to practise mindfulness in everyday activities. CDs or downloadable audio tracks with instruction and guidance from us will help you practise at home. You don’t need any previous meditation experience, and the courses are entirely non-religious and secular. The cost includes ongoing ‘phone or e-mail support during the course. A preliminary one-to-one discussion will clarify any questions before you start. Find out more through the links below or by contacting us on 01392 439715, 07951 820803 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
We also run occasional courses on Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Skills and Mindfulness for Pain and Illness Contact us for more information about these, or simply to express your interest. We can sometimes plan future courses around what’s needed or teach small groups by arrangement. You can also learn mindfulness one-to-one, either in person or by distance learning.
