Supervision for Mindfulness Teachers

As well as teaching Mindfulness directly, I also supervise other Mindfulness Teachers – both those currently in training and those already running groups or classes in mindfulness-based approaches or meditation. This can be on an occasional, one-off, basis or more regular and on-going – for example: some teachers like to have supervision just while they are running a course, some like to meet monthly.

The content of our sessions can include: recruitment and orientation procedures; the practicalities of group and session management (timing, pacing, etc); relating to the experience of the group and of individual students; guiding various elements of the mindfulness session – practices, enquiry, etc; the themes of each mindfulness session and the overall trajectory of the course; and the relationship of the course leader’s own personal practice and preparing the session. Often, we divide our time between reviewing previous session/s – including what aspects seemed to go well, or not, and why – and looking ahead. We can also discuss continuing professional development.

I am a long-standing Registered Supervisor with Mindfulness Network and follow the Good Practice Guidelines For Supervisors agreed by the the British Association for Mindfulness-Based Approaches.

We can meet in-person or speak by phone or using skype, zoom or facetime. I generally charge £40 per hour or pro rata.
